— Read before you book

Things that can go wrong.

Ayau is remote. Logistics here aren't bookable on Skyscanner — they involve fuel availability, weather, and small-island bureaucracy. Below are the realities every guest should plan for.

Fuel shortages at Kabare

Kabare and Ayau often suffer from fuel shortages. Risyard may contact you to request an early payment to secure the fuel needed for your transfer — this is normal, not a scam.

Schedules change without notice

Ferry and Susi Air schedules are subject to change. Individual departures can shift at random. Always confirm by WhatsApp 24–48h before traveling.

Tickets purchased on-site only

Ferry tickets cannot be booked online. Buy them on travel day at the port office. Cash, cards, and QRIS accepted. Add IDR 12,000 for the Sorong boarding pass fee.

Susi Air baggage limit: 15 kg

The 10-seat Susi Air planes have a strict 15 kg luggage allowance. Baggage fees are paid in cash on-site. Pack accordingly — divers especially.

Confirm with Risyard, always

Every step involving Risyard's boat (the final transfer) must be confirmed 14+ days in advance. He can also book Susi Air flights for you — easier than coordinating yourself.

Sea conditions affect duration

Boat transfer times (Waisai→Ayau ~5h, Kabare→Ayau ~2h) are estimates. Rough seas can extend the journey significantly. Risyard decides departure timing based on weather.

— Ready to arrange your transfer?

Message Risyard directly.

Send your travel dates, party size, and which route you're planning. Risyard replies within 72 hours from Ayau and handles every logistics piece — boat coordination, Susi Air booking, airport pickup.
